So, I decided to throw a little tantrum. A “beachy” fit. Not a hissy fit. How so? Let's gist. Generally speaking, a subject matter is viewed in a particular way and given different interpretations by different people. Even siblings who were born and raised in the same household with same set of values can have the most diverse opinions on the same subject matter. So it is no surprise that the subject matter of this post is viewed differently by different people. So what’s my beachy fit about? Anklets. Yes, anklets. You know, those dainty pieces of jewelry worn on the ankles by ladies. To some people, it's just a piece of jewelry, worn on the ankle, no more, no less. To some others, it seems to have a negative spiritual connotation. Yet to another set of people, the lady who wears this piece of jewelry is seen to be a morally loose lady.  Three points of view on just one piece of jewelry. These points of view will never merge. For years now, the palazzo pants has been a no-show in my wardrobe. It finally showed up thanks to a chance encounter when I went shopping for something else entirely. 😉 So here I am on this palazzo pathway (I like the sound of that) in my black palazzo pants and a grey or is it an ash coloured blouse? Looks like I need a brush up class on colours. 🤓 Black shoes, black clutch and silver accessories complete the look. I don’t think gold accessories go well with the colour of this blouse or what do you think? Stay beautiful, 'Zibah. 

Zoom off to where? Lol. Let's gist. But first, I cheekily assure you that the jet ski was not turned on neither did it move an inch beyond the perimeter of its anchor on that beach. Why? We'll come back to this later. So, on this timeout, I ended up at a beach. I felt like the sights and sounds of the beach would soothe my frayed nerves from a hectic work week.  My camera came along for this timeout hoping to capture exciting pictures of the ocean but the ocean refused to pose for my camera. 🤓 Well, someone had to strike  some poses for the camera but since the ocean was not in the mood for it, I had to step up to the plate.  So, back to the jet ski gist. Back in 2019 when I was commuting between Ogun and Lagos States, Mondays through Fridays, I had to leave the house most mornings while it was still dark. On this particular day, one of such days I had to be in court (I am a legal practitioner) on Lagos Island, I had to leave the house at some minutes past 4 am in order to beat the early morning traffic on the Third Mainland Bridge. It was very dark on my street. There was a power outage and the long street didn’t have solar lights back then. As I walked from my house to the bus stop, I didn’t meet anyone on the street. I didn’t want to draw any attention to myself by switching on my flashlight. So I walked carefully in the dark while praying in tongues under my breath for safety. Or should I have titled this post 'Date With Dates'? 😃 So the other day, the sweet toothed person that I am had a sudden craving for dates and so I got me a bowl of dates.  Out of curiosity I decided to read up on the health benefits of this natural sweetness the date palm 🌴 has blessed us with. I am not a medical personnel and so I won't bore you with its properties that I don't even understand. 😃 However, simply put, the date fruit is said to be beneficial to the human health when taken in moderation. It is said to be highly nutritious especially with natural sugars. If you have a history of blood sugar issues and you like and eat dates, please have a discussion with your doctor if you are yet to do so.  Well, this particular craving was satisfied in not just one but several dates with my bowl of dates. Sheer skin it is truly, with shea butter. Let's gist. My relationship with shea butter started a few years ago in my bid for an effective al natural skin moisturiser. Before then, it had registered in my subconscious mind that a good number of skin moisturisers or lotions had shea butter as one of their core ingredients.  This, was deduced by my thought process to mean that there must be something about shea butter in order for a number of high end skin care brands to include it in their products. 🤔  Blindly, without researching (Google 🤓) I switched from my Olay moisturiser to al natural shea butter, nothing else added, just as plain and as raw as it comes. It was when I started noticing the change in the appearance of my skin that I did my research on shea butter.  What change? Five changes actually. Shell pearls are man made. They are said to be produced from the powder derived from the inner lining of an oyster shell. The shell pearls get their shine from a protective coating after being coated with natural iridescent pearl nacre while still  in its gel form, before it hardens. Shell pearls are beautiful. They are more durable than cultured pearls but way less expensive.  I am excited! Let's design our jewellery with this set of bubbly beauties . . . My hands went to work with the intention of replicating the design I already had in my imagination, of shell pearls fashion jewellery. On this post , while telling my tale of peppers, I said I would give an update on my bouquet of peppers if my readers were interested. A special reader expressed that interest in the comment section so here we go . . . As you can see from the leading image of this post, my bouquet of peppers was doing lushly great . . . 😃 Until they struck. Who are they? A swarm of innocuous looking, tiny, white organisms popularly known as white flies. They literally sucked the life out of my bouquet of peppers. I realised almost too late that they shouldn't be ignored when my pepper plants didn't flower in preparation for fruiting but rather began to have a wilted and stunted look. At first I thought it was as a result of the fact that I had several pepper plants in one place and so there was nutrients deficiency in the soil. To combat that, I introduced banana tea. It made a little difference for a few days because the plants started flowering.  However, it dawned on me that the white flies...

Did you know that another name for okra is Lady's Fingers? 😄 I read somewhere that the name originated in reference to a  slimmer variety of the okra fruits which look like dainty lady's fingers. Yes, I agree that they look like dainty lady's fingers b ut they look more like the fingers on a  lepa shandy  except perhaps, the pinkie on every lady's hand. 😃 And yes, even though okra is generally treated like a vegetable for culinary purposes, okra is technically a fruit - the okra pods which have seeds are formed from the pollinated flowers of the okra plant.  So, Lady's Fingers made it to my home garden recently. I got the seeds from a special neighbour and decided to plant and grow them. Didn't know before now that the okra plant is quite a thirsty plant.
