SHEER SKIN WITH SHEA BUTTER

Sheer skin it is truly, with shea butter. Let's gist.

My relationship with shea butter started a few years ago in my bid for an effective al natural skin moisturiser.

Before then, it had registered in my subconscious mind that a good number of skin moisturisers or lotions had shea butter as one of their core ingredients.
This, was deduced by my thought process to mean that there must be something about shea butter in order for a number of high end skin care brands to include it in their products. 🤔

Blindly, without researching (Google 🤓) I switched from my Olay moisturiser to al natural shea butter, nothing else added, just as plain and as raw as it comes.

It was when I started noticing the change in the appearance of my skin that I did my research on shea butter.

What change? Five changes actually.
First, my skin started feeling smoother and softer to the touch.
Second, it began to look fresher.
Third, it started looking brighter. Now, this third change took me by surprise. Why? I was actually expecting a darker skin tone when I switched from Olay moisturiser to raw shea butter because I have heard it said that shea butter darkens the skin. However, it wasn't so in my case.
Fourth, my fine lines here and there faded away!
Fifth, the glow! Shea butter gives my skin a natural looking glow and I'm all for it, loving it! 🥰

The shea butter fragrance though gave me a bit of concern at first but after I made the switch from Olay, my olfactory sense classified the shea butter fragrance as natural, which of course it is; and therefore wholesome and healthy not just for my skin but my entire body system. I agree with that classification and conclusion. 🤓
Moreover, I have come to love the mild fragrance of shea butter. Each time I perceive it, it makes me feel like the grateful recipient of nature's free gift of a bowl of very rich emollient moisturiser overflowing with so much goodness, a gift that keeps giving. Oops, I'm waxing lyrical on you. Sorry, but not sorry. 😃

Now, that research. It turns out that shea butter has a whole lot of things it is good for that discussing them on this blog post will make it too lengthy. Suffice it to say that shea butter is good for addressing certain health, hair and skin conditions. In fact I learnt that because of the number of health, hair and skin conditions shea butter addresses effectively,  it has been nicknamed the "Tree of Life".

This sheer skin with shea butter experience of mine ehn? We die live here! 🤩

  1. It may not be “a natural product “ in the sense of the word but I noticed that drinking at least 4 glasses of water a day made my skin feel fresher and when I started applying shea butter it made my skin look rosy and more rejuvenated. It’s really a skin care routine if you look at it that way 🤓

    1. So true! Water also gives one's skin a fresh look when taken sufficiently and consistently. Drinking sufficient water and moisturising with shea butter is indeed a skin care routine, an al natural one at that. Thanks a lot for reading and commenting.
