Or should I have titled this post 'Date With Dates'? 😃
So the other day, the sweet toothed person that I am had a sudden craving for dates and so I got me a bowl of dates.
Out of curiosity I decided to read up on the health benefits of this natural sweetness the date palm 🌴 has blessed us with.
I am not a medical personnel and so I won't bore you with its properties that I don't even understand. 😃
However, simply put, the date fruit is said to be beneficial to the human health when taken in moderation. It is said to be highly nutritious especially with natural sugars. If you have a history of blood sugar issues and you like and eat dates, please have a discussion with your doctor if you are yet to do so.
Well, this particular craving was satisfied in not just one but several dates with my bowl of dates. How did the dates with my dates go? I'll explain with a simple recipe. 🤓
Oats. Diced carrots. Sliced dates. Chocolate-flavoured milk drink powder. Salt. Black pepper. Water.
All the ingredients went into the pot at the same time. Total duration of time on the cooker was two minutes or thereabout.
This was so delicious I can't even begin to describe the taste! Where do I start from? The sweet crunchy dates in the oatmeal? The refreshing carrots? The chocolate flavour of the milk drink powder? The mild heat from the black pepper on my taste buds? The balance in taste the salt brought to the oatmeal?
My taste buds enjoyed the bursts of taste of the ingredients in every scoop that went into my mouth. 😋
I enjoyed these dates with my dates severally in between meals for several days until my craving was satisfied. 😃
