Coconut oil is said to have a lot of benefits. From the enhancing of natural hair growth, improving the conditions of damaged permed hair, minimizing the appearance of fresh minor scars on the skin, preventing the formation of new stretch marks on the belly during pregnancy, providing of relief for chapped lips, elimination of acne, heat rashes and eczema, providing relief on cracked and dry nipples for nursing mothers, minimizing the appearance of dark spots left on facial skin by acne, to the beautiful effects it has on the face and the rest of the body when used as one of the components of a facial and as a body moisturizer.
However, there are different and questionable products out there that answer to coconut oil. In order to be sure that it is organic coconut oil you have in your hands, you have to make it or do it yourself (DIY). Alternatively, you can get somebody to do it for you using the steps below. The coconut oil produced by using this method is called organic virgin coconut oil. This is because it is 100% coconut oil, no additives and it does not pass through any heating process. The benefit of this is that all the nutrients are intact and its efficacy is better than that produced via a heating process.
Before you start, please protect your eyes with goggles and your hands with safety gloves or provide these safety items for the person you want to assign the task to. Very important!
DIY Organic Virgin Coconut Oil
Crack the coconuts using a strong knife or a hammer in order to get out the water. Then break up the coconuts.
Separate the meat from the shell.
Slice the coconut into smaller pieces to make blending easier.
Before you blend, add some coconut water (optional as you may want to drink the coconut water) and lots of water to each portion of coconut you put in the blender. This enables the blender to blend the coconut freely and properly.
Next, using a sieve, separate the coconut chaff from the coconut milk and let the milk sit . . .
About 31 hours later . . .
If you look closely (at the image below 👇) you can see three definite layers. The top layer is referred to as the protein. The second layer is the oil, though not very clear at this point in time. The third and last layer is the water. . .
At about 57 hours later . . .
The oil can be seen between the white coloured protein above and the milky water beneath.
Aerial view still at 57 hours.👆
The top of the protein is not as white as it is at the side (as we saw in the previous image above) and the clear liquid you can see beneath the protein is the coconut oil.
Gently scoop the protein out and extract the oil with a syringe.
You want to do this carefully because you don’t want to extract the protein and or the water, together with the oil.
. . . And there you have your organic virgin coconut oil. It can be stored at room temperature. It can also be refrigerated.
Stay beautiful,
'Zibah.

Interesting! Though, I only know about the heating process.
